Heat wave could last for five days in Terai
Kathmandu, 8 June: The Meteorological Forecasting Division has askd people in the Tarai to avoid outdoor activities because of the heat spell.
Heat wave conditions may prevail at least for five more days to come in the southern belt of the country, The Division has said. It said that the Monsoon this year is yet to come and the continued rise in temperature is only prolonging the life span of heatwaves.
Different areas in Terai including Bhaiahawa and Nepaljug have already witnessed temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius.
Listing the problems like dizziness, fatigue, headache, cramp, vomiting and others caused by heat waves, the Division’s bulletin has suggested people to follow precautionary measures like drinking water frequently, wearing light cotton cloths, covering the head and others.
