Govt recalls more ambassadors, recommends 19 new envoys
Kathmandu : The K P Oli government today recommended 19 ambassadors giving continuity to the policy and practice of what is generally referred as ‘ ansabanda’.
The government also recalled four ambassadors—China and South Africa and instantly filled up the vacancies.
In what looks like fickle mindedness of the government in Diplomatic appointments, it decided to give continuity to Dr Shankar Sharma in Delhi while he was preparing to come back two months after having been Recalled by the Dahal-Oli government. Interestingly, Lok Darshan Regmi who had been nominated to succeed Sharma in Delhi will now be going to the U S,
Chandra Ghimire who was earlier nominated for the U S will now be going to the United Kingdom as per the cabinet decision taken on Monday.
Dr Krishna Prasad Oli, a close relative of PM K P Oli has been nominated for China. Bishnu Pukar Shrestha from China and Dan Bahadur from South Africa along with the ambassador from Australia have been recalled. Kapilman Shrestha has been tipped for South Africa and Kanta Rizal for Australia.
Shail Rupakheti has been tipped as ambassador for Germany, Shivmaya Tumbahumphey for South Korea, Rita Dhital for Pakistan, Sanil Nepal fir Spain and Netra Timalsina for Malaysia.
