Girl Injured in Landslide Airlifted to Surkhet by Military Helicopter
An 11-year-old girl who was injured in a landslide in Jajarkot last night has been airlifted to Surkhet for further treatment by a Nepalese Army helicopter.
The landslide occurred in Barhakot Rural Municipality-6 on Saturday, injuring the girl. She was airlifted to Surkhet by the Army helicopter on Sunday. She will receive treatment at the Karnali Province Hospital in Surkhet.
Since Smriti Chalaune, a resident of Barhakot Rural Municipality-6, was in a serious condition and unable to receive adequate treatment in the district, she was rescued by helicopter.
At around 2 a.m. last night, a landslide buried a house, leaving two people missing. In Barhakot-4, Pallo Dhuma village, Manbahadur Chalaune and his wife, Mayadevi Chalaune, were reported missing after being buried in the landslide.
A police team has arrived at the scene. Efforts to remove the debris from the landslide-affected house are currently underway.
