Kathmandu – Former President Bidhya Devi Bhandari, who publicly announced her return to active politics, has decided to relinquish all government-provided services and facilities she had been receiving in her capacity as a former president.

According to a close source, Bhandari plans to return all such benefits starting from Shrawan 1 (mid-July). The government had been covering expenses for her two personal secretaries, providing housing for her security personnel, and covering her fuel costs. The source confirmed that she has decided to discontinue all these services from the specified date.

Bhandari currently resides in her private home in Budhanilkantha and has been using her personal vehicle. The source also mentioned that she has not been receiving any housing allowance or vehicle-related benefits.

On June 29, 2025, Bhandari renewed her membership with the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist), declaring her intention to re-engage in active politics. This announcement has generated significant discussion within the party and the broader political landscape.
