Kathmandu, 15 May: Former King Gyanendra Shah and Queen Komal offered Pooja at the Sri Ram temple in Ayodhya.
The Royal couple reached the newly built temple in the ancient shrine around noon on Sunday and offered Pooja there.
The representative and chief of the Ram Janam Bhoomi welcomed the royal couple. The Ram temple is considered as the symbol of BJP’s determination and success in consolidating Hindus and rallying them politically in favour of the BJP.
Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi will be inaugurating the temple in January, five months ahead of the scheduled poll a year later.
The former king and the queen are currently in Lucknow and are likely to come back home today.
The grand temple has been built on the remnants of the Babri Masjid that was destroyed by pro- temple groups.
