Former DPM Rayamajhi presented at Public Prosecutor Office
Kathmandu, 15 May: The Police today took former Deputy Prime Minister and Top Bahadur Rayamajhi to the Public Prosecutor Office, a day after his arrest in the fake Bhutani refugee scam, prior to seeking judicial permission for keeping in custody for interrogation.
Police said he would be taken to the district court, Kathmandu, to secure permission to keep him in judicial custody for three days for investigation in the scam.
Rayamajhi, who is also the secretary of the Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Marxist Leninist, had been arrested from Budaneelkantha in Kathmandu eleven days after arrest warrant had been issued.
Rayamajhi is among the first 12 others along with his son Sandeeep Rayamajhi to be arrested in the scam.
