Fire at Salyan Festival Destroys Stalls, Causes Millions in Damage

Dang-Salyan – A fire broke out at the festival being held in Salyan. The fire occurred at the venue of the second grand Salyan Festival, organized by the National Lok Dohori Pratisthan Salyan.

The fire, which occurred during the second grand Salyan Festival that has been ongoing for the past eight days, destroyed property worth millions. The fire broke out on the eighth night of the festival, which started on the 18th, causing millions worth of damage.

Out of the 135 stalls set up at the festival, 80 stalls were affected by the fire, according to Nokhiram Thapa, secretary of the National Lok Dohori Pratisthan Salyan. He stated that the fire started at 11 PM last night in one of the stalls. The estimated damage is over NPR 80 million.

The fire was brought under control by the Nepali Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police, and local authorities late at night, as confirmed by Salyān Police Chief Keshar Neupane.

He added that details of the damage are still being assessed, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.
