Finance Minister Mahat meets MCC chief Albright

Kathmandu, 03 Oct: Finance minister Prakash Sharan Mahat has met visiting Chief Executive Officer of Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Alice Albright.

Dr Mahat went to Hotel Basera for the meeting during a lunch hosted by Albright.

Albright who arrived here on Sunday on five days visit has already met Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba and opposition leader K P Sharma Oli.

Albright had called on these leaders at their respective residence yesterday and today. Dr. Mahat is the first Minister to go out to meet Albright.

Albright is the first and highest MCC authority to visit Nepal after the Parliament ratified the 500 mn USD MCC Nepal Compact last February.

On August 31, Nepal and US entry into force agreement marking implementation phase of the project that envisages constructing 315 KM 400 KB transmission line.
