Ex Mayor Poudel tipped as Ambassador for South Korea

Kathmandu: Ramesh Chandra Poudel, a former Mayor of Birat Nagar is likely to be the new Ambassador for South Korea. Poudel’s name has been suggested by K P Oli Chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal- Unified Marxist Leninist , during a meeting with prime minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal yesterday.

Sushil Pyakurel, a human right activist, had declined to go there although the cabinet had decided in his devour for South Korea along with seven nominees to other countries. Poudels name will be approved by the next cabinet meeting, a high placed source told Deshsanchar.

Poudel, a retired college teacher, had previously been nominated for Sri Lanka but the appointment did not materialize because of fall of the government that had appointed him
