Kathmandu – The election atmosphere within the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) in Japan is heating up. Individuals who have been working in Japan for a considerable time and are active in social areas are announcing their candidacies in quick succession.

In this context, Narayan Subedi has declared his candidacy for the position of vice-president. Subedi, who has been living in Japan for many years, is running for a two-year term. Having previously served as a member, treasurer, honorary member, and national council member of the NRNA Kyushu regional committee, he emphasized that his candidacy is not just about slogans.

Announcing his candidacy, Subedi stated, “My candidacy aims to create a supportive NRNA rather than one focused merely on slogans.” He expressed his intent to make life for Nepalis in Japan more organized, secure, and dignified.

Subedi stated his goal is for all Nepalis to feel that NRNA belongs to and represents them. He urged for the opportunity to serve the Nepali community throughout Japan. Furthermore, he clarified that his candidacy is driven not by personal gain or ambition for position but by a commitment to common interests, transparent leadership, inclusive perspectives, community identity, and welfare.

Subedi has played significant roles in successfully organizing initiatives such as the mobile services in Fukuoka in collaboration with the Nepali Embassy in Japan, the Nepal Festival Fukuoka, the Hakata Dontaku event, interactive programs with the Fukuoka Immigration Bureau, and efforts to assist Nepalis facing difficulties in Nepal and Japan, as well as sports activities.

He emphasized, “To elevate the reputation of this organization, those interested in selfless social work should join this campaign, rising above caste, religion, geography, and political beliefs.”
