Dr KC to seek action against judge legitimizing University affiliation to BMC
Kathmandu, June 19. Dr Gobinda K C who has been crusading for strict and transparent system for location, fees and affiliation of Medical colleges is contemplating judicial review of recent verdict of the Supreme Court granting permission to Jhapa based BMC, a medical college owned by Durga Prasai, to start MBBS classes soon.
Talking to journalists, Dr K C said the verdict was unfair, and he would seek a judicial review. He also said that he and his colleagues in the campaign may also go for impeachment of the judges concerned and they are holding talks with MPs of different political parties.
He alleged that the Supreme Court just chose to ignore the argument and evidences produced against the BMC as it had not even properly renewed the letter of intent as required under law. Kathmandu University has already written to the Medical Education Commission to facilitate the BMC so that it is able to run MBBS classes from this academic session itself as ordered by the Supreme Court.
