DP Aryal named acting RSP President
After the President of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, Ravi Lamichhane, was suspended from his parliamentary position, Dorprasad (DP) Aryal has been given the responsibility of the party’s acting president.
The Secretariat meeting held on Monday assigned Aryal as the acting president. He was appointed as the acting president on the recommendation of Lamichhane.
Among the two vice-presidents, Aryal was chosen by Lamichhane. The other vice-president, Swarnim Wagle, also had hopes of becoming the acting president.
According to the party’s statute, in the absence of the president, the senior vice-president in terms of age or the vice-president appointed by the president is responsible for performing the duties of the acting president. Similarly, if there is more than one member in the position of vice-president or deputy chief, the senior vice-president or deputy chief by age is responsible for performing the duties of the acting president or chief.
A case has been filed against Rastriya Swatantra Party President Ravi Lamichhane on Sunday at the Kaski District Court on charges of cooperative fraud and other crimes. Lamichhane has been in police custody since November 18 due to these charges.
