In the U.S. presidential election, Donald Trump has been elected as the president. While the vote count was still ongoing, he secured 277 seats, surpassing the 270 needed for victory, thereby confirming his win. Trump declared his victory even as the counting continued in a few states, securing a significant and wide win.

Kamala Harris, on the other hand, secured 224 seats. With this win, Trump has been elected as the 47th President of the United States. He had previously been elected as the 45th president. However, in his pursuit to become president for a second consecutive term, his dream was obstructed by Joe Biden, but he succeeded in his third attempt, becoming president for the second time.

After confirming his victory, he addressed his supporters, thanking them for their support. He also expressed gratitude to individuals like Elon Musk and all Americans, stating that the country had won once again. Trump declared that he had become the 47th president after securing the necessary seats. He thanked the American people for giving him an unprecedented mandate.

Trump’s victory was largely determined by the ‘swing’ states. The state of Pennsylvania, with 19 electoral votes, was crucial, and Trump clinched that win, ensuring his victory even as votes were still being counted. He led in seven swing states, which were considered decisive for his victory.

In North Carolina, Georgia, and Pennsylvania, where the counting was complete, Trump emerged victorious. He secured 16 seats from North Carolina, another 16 from Georgia, and 19 seats from Pennsylvania, solidifying his path to the presidency. In the previous competition against Joe Biden, Trump had lost six of the seven swing states.

In the U.S., a total of 538 electoral votes are up for grabs, and 270 are needed to win the presidency. There were no unexpected results in any of the states so far. In the ‘blue states’ (Democratic-leaning states), Kamala Harris led, while in the ‘red states’ (Republican-leaning states), Donald Trump had the advantage. Trump’s victory in the decisive swing states dashed Kamala Harris’ dream of becoming the first female president.

Along with the presidential election, Trump’s party, the Republican Party, gained a lead in both chambers of the U.S. Congress — the Senate and the House of Representatives. In the Senate, the Republican Party secured a majority. Trump had previously served as president from 2017 to 2021. In the subsequent election, he was defeated by Joe Biden. According to U.S. law, an individual can serve two terms as president. Despite losing his second consecutive term, Trump participated in the election for a third time and succeeded in becoming president for the second time.
