Congress takes strict action against leaders/activists for obstructing elections

Kathmandu – The Central Discipline Committee of Nepali Congress has decided to expel or suspend several leaders and activists based on evidence that they obstructed candidates of the party or those supported by the party during the Local Level, Provincial Assembly, and House of Representatives elections 2079 (2022) by using tactics such as social media, audio/video, with the ill intent of causing their defeat.

This decision was made during the meeting of the Central Discipline Committee held from Ashad 1 to 7, 2082 (June 15 to 21, 2025).

Key leaders and activists subjected to disciplinary action:

Tulsi Subba, Central Committee member from Tehrathum district; Kumar Khadka, Central Committee member and former Minister of Gandaki Province from Kaski district; Vikram Khanal, General Secretary of Lumbini Province; Vishnu Kumar Rai, Chairperson of Khotang district; and Arvind Kumar Gupta, Chairperson of Parsa district, Constituency No. 1, have all been expelled from the party for one year, during which they will not retain their membership, the Nepali Congress has stated.
