CIB arrests businessman Arun Chaudhary in Bansbari Land Scam

Kathmandu, 01 Feb: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has arrested Arun Chaudhary, Chairman and Managing Director of CG Holdings in the Bansbari Land Scam. Ajit Narayan Singh, the then Chairman of Bansbari Leather and Shoe Factory was also arrested along with Chaudhary on Thursday.

The scam involves transfer of the factory’s land to Chaudhary group for running their school and other business activities.

The CIB is undertaking an investigation into the alleged illegality in transfer of the land owned by then Bansbari Leather and Shoe Factory, the state owned factory that closed down following government’s privatization policy in 1992.
