Chelsea has claimed victory in the FIFA Club World Cup. Inspired by an outstanding performance from Cole Palmer, they defeated European Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) with a decisive 3-0 scoreline, marking Chelsea’s first Club World Cup title.

English midfielder Palmer scored twice, while newly signed Joao Pedro added a third goal for the team. The match took place at MetLife Stadium, New Jersey, where a large crowd witnessed Chelsea’s triumph over a strong PSG side.

In the 22nd minute, Malo Gusto bypassed Nuno Mendes to assist Palmer, who skillfully scored past Donnarumma to give Chelsea the lead. Just eight minutes later, Palmer struck again from the edge of the penalty area with another impressive goal.

Towards the end of the first half, a pass from Palmer split the defense, setting up Joao Pedro to chip the ball over Donnarumma, extending Chelsea’s seemingly unassailable lead. Before the match, Chelsea’s coach Enzo Maresca praised PSG as ‘one of the best teams in the world.’

Although PSG made several attempts to rally in the second half, including efforts by Ousmane Dembélé and Liam Delap, their chances proved unsuccessful. Earlier, Joao Neves and Désiré Doué squandered significant opportunities for PSG.

In the 85th minute, PSG’s situation deteriorated further when midfielder Neves was shown a red card after VAR review, following his pulling of Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella’s hair. This left PSG with little hope of a comeback.

The match was attended by 81,118 spectators, the largest crowd for the tournament so far, including former U.S. President Donald Trump and FIFA President Gianni Infantino. With this victory, Chelsea not only secured the world champion title but also earned nearly 90 million pounds.
