BYD India Unveils Sealion 7 Pure Performance Electric SUV at Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025

BYD India, a subsidiary of the world’s leading New Energy Vehicle (NEV) manufacturer, has officially launched its highly anticipated Sealion 7 Pure Performance electric SUV in India. The unveiling took place at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, held in New Delhi. Alongside its launch in India, the Sealion 7 is also set to debut in Nepal, marking a significant expansion of BYD’s electric vehicle lineup in South Asia.

The BYD Sealion 7 comes equipped with some of the brand’s most advanced technologies, including the innovative Intelligence Torque Adaption Control (iTAC) and the groundbreaking CTB (Cell to Body) technology. The latter integrates BYD’s Blade Battery directly into the vehicle’s chassis, providing enhanced safety, improved performance, and a more spacious interior. The integration of these technologies results in superior handling and an extended driving range for the electric SUV.

In the Indian market, the Sealion 7 will be offered with an 82.56 kWh battery pack, available in two variants: Premium and Performance. The Performance variant delivers a powerful 390 kW and 690 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds and offering a range of 542 km on a full charge (according to NEDC testing standards). The Premium variant provides 230 kW of power and 380 Nm of torque, achieving the same acceleration in 6.7 seconds, with a slightly higher range of 567 km.

With its sleek design and generous proportions, the Sealion 7 measures 4,830 mm in length and features a 2,930 mm wheelbase. The SUV’s exterior is highlighted by flowing lines and an aerodynamic profile, complemented by a distinctive ‘OCEAN X’ front styling. Inside, the cabin impresses with a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen, premium quilted Nappa leather seats, and a customizable 128-color ambient lighting system. Additional features include a panoramic glass roof with an electric sunshade, a heads-up display, and a noise-reduced cabin that minimizes vibration and harshness for a smooth, quiet ride.

BYD India also took the opportunity to showcase other electric vehicles at the expo, including the Sealion 6, a Super Plug-in Hybrid EV equipped with BYD’s DM-i technology, and the luxury Yangwang U8 SUV. These models demonstrate BYD’s commitment to leading the way in electric mobility with cutting-edge, sustainable automotive solutions.

The BYD Sealion 7’s launch is poised to set a new benchmark in the Indian electric vehicle market, combining advanced technology, performance, and luxury in one eco-friendly package.
