British Ambassador Rob Fenn and Wife Celebrate 22nd Wedding Anniversary at Janaki Temple

Janakpurdham: British Ambassador to Nepal, Rob Fenn, and his wife, Julia Fenn, celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary at the Janaki Temple in Janakpurdham.

On Saturday morning, they celebrated their anniversary dressed in traditional Nepali attire within the temple premises. During the event, a Swastik recitation ceremony was conducted.

Present at the occasion were the successor of Janaki Temple, Mahant Ram Roshan Das, Speaker of Madhesh Province, Ram Chandra Mandal, Minister of Education and Culture of Madhesh Province, Rani Sharma Tiwari, and Mayor of Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City, Manoj Sah, among others.

Ambassador Fenn and his wife expressed that they chose to celebrate their wedding anniversary at the Janaki Temple because it symbolizes love, faith, and devotion. They shared that celebrating their anniversary at the temple felt like reliving their wedding day and added that they were extremely happy. Ambassador Fenn also encouraged British citizens to visit Janakpurdham.

The Government of Nepal, in its fiscal year 2081/82 budget, announced plans to develop Janakpurdham as a wedding destination. Similarly, the Madhesh Provincial Government has adopted a policy to establish Janakpurdham as a wedding hub.

Madhesh Province’s Minister for Education and Culture, Rani Sharma Tiwari, emphasized the excellence of the wedding traditions practiced in Madhesh and stressed the need to promote and advance these traditions, stating that the government is actively working toward this goal.
