Kathmandu- All the 27 bodies of Indian tourists who lost theirl ives in a road accident near Abu Khaireni in Tanahu were sent to Gorakhpur a from Bharatpur after their postmortem was conducted, ando ther formalities completed.
The bodies were received at Bharatpur government Hospital in Chitwan, and then taken to the local airport from where 25 of them were flown in a special aircraft of the Indian Air Force and others two by road.
India’s Minister of state for Youths and sports, Rakshya Nikhil Khadse received the bodies on behalf of her government . According to the information gathered from Indian media, all the 27 bodies would be sent to Nashik in Maharashtra, their native place, for
their last rites.
Minister Khadse who arrived at Kathmandu in the morning also paid a visit to the Teaching Hospital to inquire about the condition of 16 injured undergoing treatment there. She wished them speedy recovery promising all assistance , hospital sources said.
A bus with UP registration number with 43 people on board , had fallen around 250 m down into the Marsyangdi River, resulting in the death of 27, leaving the rest 16 wounded.
The wounded ones were transported to Kathmandu for treatment in a helicopter of the Nepal army. While the government hospital near Abu Khaireni declared 26 victims dead, one succumbed to injury at Bharatpur government hospital soon after he was rushed there.
