Biratnagar defeated Chitwan, keeping their playoff hopes alive until the final match.

Biratnagar has secured its second win in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) cricket. With this victory, Biratnagar has pushed its “playoff” chances to the final match. Chitwan, who lost by 51 runs to Biratnagar, now faces increasing difficulties in securing a smooth path to the playoffs.

In the second match on Friday, Biratnagar Kings, after winning the toss, batted first and set a strong target of 182 runs for Chitwan Rhinos.

In response, Chitwan scored 130 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. For Chitwan, Amar Routela’s 42 runs was the highest score. Apart from him, Kushal Malla made 25 runs, Ravi Bopara scored 20 runs, and Santosh Karki contributed 28 runs.

For Biratnagar, Sandeep Lamichhane took 2 wickets, while Chris Sole, Basir Ahmed, Subash Bhandari, and Lokesh Bam each claimed 1 wicket.

Earlier, batting first, Biratnagar scored 181 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

For Biratnagar, Basir Ahmed played a brilliant innings, scoring 68 runs off 44 balls, with 4 fours and 4 sixes. He was supported by Rajesh Pulami, who remained unbeaten on 33 runs from 20 balls, hitting 1 four and 3 sixes. Apart from these two, Martin Guptill contributed 45 runs.

For Chitwan, Rijan Dhakal took 2 wickets, while Sohail Tanveer, Basil Hamid, and Kushal Malla each took 1 wicket.
