Balkot meeting decisive on Prachands’s candidacy for PM

A meeting held at Balkot-residence cum political headquarter of CPN UML chief KP Oli- in the afternoon decided to claim Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s (Prachanda) government leadership the President’s office.

A meeting among CPN (UML) chair KP Oli, CPN (Maoist Center) chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Rastriya Swatantra Party Chair Rabi Lamichhane was held at Balkot.

Prachanda’s extreme but anticipated move to quit the ruling alliance in the wake of the final day of the one-week deadline given by President Bidya Devi Bhandari to political parties to form the post-election government.

With the announcement of Prachanda quitting the ruling alliance, the power center shifted from Baluwatar to Balkot.
