Bala Chaturdashi observed (Pictures)
Kathmandu, 11 Dec: Bala Chaturdashi was celebrated across the country paying reverence to departed souls.
The Bala Chaturdashi, an annual festival, is observed by sowing ‘Satbeej’ (seven types of grains) at the Shiva shrines and around in honour and wishing them happy journey to eternity.
People from different parts of the country visited Pashupatinath temple to mark the occasion. Those unable to reach Pashupatinath visitd the Shiva shrine nearby.
The devotees throng in Shiva temples including the Pashupatinath a night before, lit the lamps and spent the night observing a vigil. Early morning, the following day, they conclude the festival sowing Satbeej.
