Bada Dashain being celebrated today, Auspicious time for tika 11:36
Badadashain, or the main day of Durga Paksha, is being celebrated today. People are receiving auspicious red tika and prosperous jamara as blessings from their elders.
The prasad (offerings) from the nine-day puja performed in the puja room is being offered today. For those who want to find an auspicious time to receive the tika, the Nepal Panchang Nirnayak Samiti has suggested 11:36 AM as the best time.
Since Vijaya Dashami is itself an auspicious day, ordinary people don’t need to find an auspicious time to receive the tika, according to the committee’s chairman, Prof. Shri Krishna Adhikari.
However, state officials must receive the tika at an auspicious time as there is a scriptural saying that receiving the tika at an auspicious time gives the ruler divine power, mantras, and enthusiasm.
The tika is applied after performing a Vedic ritual with the ghada (pot) that was established on Ghatasthapana day.
The auspicious time to immerse the Goddess who was invoked at the place where the ghada was established is 8:33 AM today. People who miss receiving the tika today can do so until Kojagrat Purnima.
