Kathmandu – The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has turned off the comment section on its Facebook posts, likely due to fear of criticism from fans. Although ANFA updated its cover photo and shared full-time scores and activities from the SAFF tournament, they have disabled the option for viewers to comment. This move seems to be an attempt to avoid potential criticism from the audience.

In the final match of the U-20 Women’s SAFF Championship, Nepal suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat against Bangladesh, finishing as runners-up. Meanwhile, Bangladesh secured the championship title for the second consecutive time, showcasing its football development and remaining unbeaten throughout the tournament.

This victory marks Bangladesh’s fifth major title in the last seven years. In contrast, Nepal has been unsuccessful in clinching titles at both senior and junior levels. Recently, ANFA has faced sharp criticism for many of its controversial decisions.

A short while ago, Nepal missed a crucial opportunity in the Asian Cup qualifiers when they were stunned in a decisive penalty shootout. Following this, head coach Patrick De Wilde, who led the team in his first international tournament, criticized ANFA heavily. He stated that without reform in the organization, Nepali football will not progress. De Wilde has reportedly submitted his resignation to the general secretary but, due to fear of further backlash, ANFA has not officially acknowledged his resignation, according to sources.
