PM Dahal directs to revise application call for VC in TU

Kathmandu, 05 Jan: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has instructed to modify eligibility criteria of aspirants for appointment as Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Tribhuvan University (TU).

The Committee Formed to Select and Recommend the VC of TU had sought applications from the qualified individuals in the next ten days for the open competition through a public notice issued earlier today.

The requirement of at least three years’ experience as office bearers in the Tribhuwan University was among the criteria which invited controversy as it was seen to prefer people having served in TU earlier as ‘officials’.

The Prime Minister has directed the Education Minister to re-advertise the announcement with correction.
