Govt all set to regulate Tik Tok

Kathmandu, 05 Nov: The government has decided to regulate the social media Tik Tok and bring the people misusing it for criminal purposes to justice.

A Home Ministry statement today said the decision to regulate the ‘most popular’ social media followed its misuse to defame public figures and incite communal disharmony.

According to the ministry, it has already come to an understanding with the Asia office of TikTok that the government would get access to identify the people misusing Tik Tok for defamatory and other criminal activities.

A technical team that was here from Singapore recently has agreed to cooperate with the government to identify the culprits using the social media for inciting communal disharmony, defamation and other criminal activities.
