CM Karki secures vote of confidence
Koshi Chief Minister Kedar Karki has secured a vote of confidence in the Provincial legislature on Wednesday.
Among 91 provincial lawmakers present, 86 backed the confidence motion with the five members from Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) deciding to act as the real opposition.
Nepali Congress that has only eight members in the provincial assembly fielded Karki for the post on October 14 with the 40 members of the Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Marxist Leninist Party -backing him.
But the evolving situation and what was seen as a rebellion within the Nepali congress apparently led by Shekhar Koirala has apparently been managed for now as both the Maoists provincial legislators also voted for Karki and Party chief Sher Bahadur Deuba chose not to take any disciplinary action against Koirala.
Karki will be giving full size to the cabinet after consulting UML leadership, sources said.
