Agitated NMA begins negotiation with Govt.
The Nepal Medical Association (NMA) and the government have begun negotiation on the Hetauda incident- physical assault on two doctors on duty-within hours of all the services except emergency one came to a standstill across the county.
The NMA decision comes as an organized pressure to seek action against those involved in the assault on two doctors — Bikas Thapa and Prashant Bidari-at Sancho Hospital in Hetauda on September 13.
The government formed the five members high level Negotiation Team led by Dr Bikash Devkota, Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Population as coordinator hold negotiation with the agitated NMA which has demanded portion of the doctors, action against those who assaulted doctors in Hetauda and others.
Others include a Joint Secretary each from the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs and the Ministry of Health and Population as members.
The both sides sat for negotiation immediately after the Negotiation team formed.
