Kathmandu, 24 Aug: The Supreme Court, today, has restrained Koshi chief minister Uddhab Thapa from taking any policy decision pending final disposal of the case challenging legality of his appointment and the way he secured vote of confidence in the provincial legislature.
A single bench of Justice Ishwor Prasad Khatiwada that issued the interim order also ruled that the case be heard by the full bench on September 1.
The bench also ruled that the government should not be taking any decision that will have long term implications.
Thapa had secured a trust vote in the provincial house on August 22 including the vote cast by the person chairing the business.
Hikmat Kumar Karki- parliamentary party leader of CPN UML in Koshi Province- had filed a petition claiming that Thapa had secured trust vote in an illegal manner.
