Prez approves bill related to loan shark

Kathmandu, 28 July: President Ram Chandra Poudel has approved the Bill to Amend Some Nepal Acts Related to Civil Code, 2080.

The bill that originated in the House of Representatives with a purpose of taking action against those involved in usury was subsequently passed by the Rashtriya Sabha on Thursday, and chairman Ganesh Prasad Timilsina had forwarded it to the president for approval.

With the President granting the assent to the bill, it will come into effect immediately bringing the loan sharks into its ambit.
