PHC unanimously approves Karki for CJ
Kathmandu, 16 May: The Parliamentary Hearing Committee today has approved Hari Krishan Karki unanimously for Chief Justice at the Supreme Court.
Karki had presented action plan yesterday and faced the question and answer session today.
Karki has been serving as the acting CJ for almost 15 months after political parties registered an impeachment motion against then CJ Cholendra Shumsher Rana leading to his suspension till his retirement in September.
With Rana’s suspension, senior most Judge Deepak Kumar Karki had served as acting CJ and after he had retired on age grounds after almost 8 months, justice Hari Krishan Karki took over the office.
