RSP to decide which cap to wear; ruling or opposition, tomorrow
Kathmandu, 30 Apr: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) will take a final decision on whether to join the government or sit in the opposition tomorrow.
According to high placed sources, this was conveyed to the Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ by RSP Chair Rabi Lamichhane during their meeting today.
Soon after the meeting at PM’s official residence in Baluwatar, Lamichhane has called a meeting of the party’s parliamentary wing and then a joint meeting with party office bearers tomorrow.
‘The issue will be settled tomorrow, sources said’, adding although the Party is divided on the puddle, Dahal led government will be in crisis if the RSP decides to occupy the opposition bench, even having to face the vote of confidence again.
PM Dahal has invited RSP leader Rabi Lamichhane to hold a meeting at Baluwatar, PM official residence.
Today’s meeting was focused on the contemporary political situation, said Dol Prasad Aryal, RSP Vice chair, adding the PM was willing to figure out the RSP’s take on the government.
The meeting is said to be significant as Rabi Lamichhane and Swarnim Wagle had hinted that the RSP might withdraw its support to the government led by Dahal.
The central working committee (CWC) and the parliamentary party (PP) meeting of RSP is scheduled tomorrow.
