By-election: nomination on Monday

The nomination of candidates for upcoming by-election for the House of Representatives (HoR) is being registered on Monday April 3.

The by-election scheduled on April 23 is taking place in the Chitwan electoral constituency-2, Tanahu-1 and Bara-2.

Tanahu-1 is vacated after Ram Chandra Poudel elected for the post of the President and Bara-2 with Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav’s appointment on the post of Vice President.

While the by-election in Chitwan-2 is taking place due to Rabi Lamichhane, the HoR member elected on 20 November from the constituency had been disqualified from the post following the Supreme Court’s verdict of holding his Nepali citizenship ‘invalid’.

Main election officer’s office has been established for the sub- election on Saturday.
