Govt to send medical teams and essential assistance to Turkey
The government has decided to dispatch medical teams and essential assistance to Turkey to support the rescue efforts underway after the devastating earthquake there.
The decision was taken by a meeting of the National Council for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Minister Wednesday.
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ proposing the meeting to send medical teams and emergency goods and essential logistics there the earliest possible stated that “Turkey is a good friend of Nepal. In past it was with us during the need and emergency and it is our responsibility to stand by its side during these hours of grief.”
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel, Chief Secretary Shanker Das Bairagi, Chief of Army Staff, Parabhu Ram Sharma and committee office-bearers and members.
