Over 500 enterprises registered in Jhapa within six months

In the first six months of the current fiscal year 2022/23, more than 500 enterprises were registered in Jhapa district.

Overall 505 enterprises were registered within December 14, 2022, according to Prem Prasad Sapkota, acting Chief of the Office of the Cottage and Small Industries, Jhapa.

Enterprises based on agriculture and forest are the highest among registered with 222 enterprises. Production related industries mark 79 while 204 service related industries were registered.

A total of 107 firms were registered in the first month of the current fiscal year, 144 in the second, 53 in the third, 49 in the fourth, 7 in the fifth and 75 in the sixth, according to the Office of the Cottage and Small Industries.

The enterprises after their operation are supposed to generate employment for around 1,289 people. While the investment of Rs 1.31 billion records to establish the enterprise, the Office has collected Rs 2 million revenue from the registration.
