Vaibhav Suryavanshi becomes youngest Indian cricketer to debut internationally

Indian young batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi has become the youngest cricketer to debut for India. At the age of 15 years and 99 days, he played his first international match, breaking the records of Shafali Verma and Sachin Tendulkar.

Before the match against England in Manchester, Tilak Varma presented Vaibhav with his debut cap. Vaibhav was moved to tears upon receiving the cap. However, his first international match could not become memorable with a win.

England chased down the target of 191 runs set by India, losing 4 wickets, and secured a remarkable 6-wicket victory. This is the highest target successfully chased by England against India in T20 internationals. In his first international match, Suryavanshi was dismissed after scoring 14 runs.

Previously, Shafali Verma had debuted for India at the age of 15 years and 239 days. In men’s cricket, Sachin Tendulkar played his first international match for India at the age of 16 years and 205 days. Vaibhav has surpassed both these records, marking a new chapter in Indian cricket.Winning the toss and opting to bat first, India scored 190 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Abhishek Sharma scored 43 runs, while Ishan Kishan made 49 runs. Similarly, captain Shreyas Iyer scored 37 runs, and Tilak Varma remained unbeaten on 24 runs.

In response, England achieved the target in 19 overs. For England, Jacob Bethhill played an unbeaten innings of 78 runs, while captain Harry Brooks and Tom Banton both scored 39 runs each. Earlier, England lost both openers in the first over but bounced back with a 51-run partnership for the third wicket.

With this victory, England took a 1-0 lead in the 5-match series.
