Erika Gurung wins bronze at Asian Karate Championships in Indonesia

Kathmandu – Nepal’s Erika Gurung secured a bronze medal for the country at the 22nd Senior Asian Karate Championships today.

In the ongoing competition in Bali, Indonesia, Erika won the bronze in the women’s over 68 kg weight category, according to coach Kushal Shrestha.

Erika defeated Kazakhstan’s Taisiya Ultyelbayeva with a score of 11–2 in the competition.

Earlier, Erika received a bye in the first round and then defeated India’s Joni Mangkhiya 8–0 in the second round to secure a place in the semifinals.
