Uruguay and Saudi Arabia shared points with a 1-1 draw in their FIFA World Cup 2026 Group ‘H’ match. The competitive game, held at Miami Stadium in Florida, America, on Tuesday morning, saw both teams miss clear chances to secure a win.

In the first half-hour, both teams played intensely, but Saudi Arabia took an unexpected lead towards the end of the first half. Abdullah Al-Amri scored a remarkable goal in the 41st minute, giving Saudi Arabia a 1-0 lead, which they maintained until halftime.

In the second half, Uruguay increased pressure with a strategy to get back into the game. They dominated ball possession and launched continuous attacks on the Saudi goal. Despite having 11 shots on target, Uruguay struggled to score due to Saudi Arabia’s strong defense. Saudi Arabia, on the other hand, managed only 3 such attempts throughout the match.

Uruguay’s persistent efforts paid off in the 80th minute when Maxi Araújo scored, leveling the game. After Araújo’s goal, neither team could score again, and the match concluded in a 1-1 draw.

With this result, all four teams in Group ‘H’ have earned 1 point each from their first games. In another match from the same group, Spain and Cape Verde also played to a 1-1 draw, making the group standings intriguing.

Other World Cup matches on Tuesday also ended in draws. In the first match of the day, Belgium and Egypt played to a 1-1 draw. Additionally, Iran and New Zealand, the other two teams in the group, are set to face off at 6:45 AM Nepali time.
