Nepal’s parliament to discuss Appropriation Bill 2083 in today’s sessions

Kathmandu – Both houses of the Federal Parliament are set to convene today. According to the Federal Parliament Secretariat, the House of Representatives will meet at 11:00 AM, while the National Assembly session is scheduled for 1:15 PM.

In the House of Representatives, discussions will begin on the Appropriation Bill. The Secretariat has indicated that there will be a grouped discussion on various headings of the Appropriation Bill, 2083, concerning different ministries.

As per the agenda, today’s discussions will cover budget allocations for the Ministry of Youth, Labour, and Employment; Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Supplies; Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Environment; Ministry of Information and Communications; Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation; Ministry of Education and Sports; Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, and Federal Affairs and General Administration; and the Ministry of Women, Children, Gender and Sexual Minorities, and Social Security.

Similarly, the National Assembly will hold a general discussion on the annual estimates of revenue and expenditure for the fiscal year 2083/84. Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle is scheduled to respond to questions raised during the general discussion on the upcoming fiscal year’s revenue and expenditure estimates.
