Harka Sampang demands PM clarify statement on Nepal’s land encroachment

Kathmandu – Harkaraj Rai (Harka Sampang), the chairman of the Labour Culture Party, has demanded that the Prime Minister clarify and substantiate his statement made in Parliament regarding Nepal’s encroachment on Indian land, and show the specific areas involved.

Speaking at Tuesday’s parliamentary session, Rai insisted that if there is no encroachment, the Prime Minister should correct his statement. “The Prime Minister must show where Nepal has encroached on land. If not, he should correct his statement,” Rai asserted.

On Jestha 17, Prime Minister Balendra Shah made a controversial statement in Parliament, claiming that not only has India encroached on Nepal’s land, but Nepal has also encroached on several areas of India. This statement has led to opposition parties obstructing parliamentary proceedings in protest.

The opposition is demanding that the Prime Minister retract his statement and have it removed from the parliamentary record.
