Kathmandu – A multi-party meeting is underway to reach an agreement on reopening the obstructed Parliament.

The meeting, called by Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane, is being held at the Public Accounts Committee hall, Parliament Secretariat, Singha Durbar, Kathmandu, according to the RSP Secretariat.

There has been significant opposition regarding Prime Minister Balendra Shah’s remarks on Nepal-India border issues during a question-answer session in Parliament on Jestha 17. Opposition party lawmakers have been obstructing the House. To resolve this deadlock, RSP President Lamichhane is holding discussions with opposition parties.

However, top leaders of major parties are absent from the ongoing meeting. Additionally, there is no representation from the Labor Culture Party led by Harka Sampang.

In the meeting, RSP President Lamichhane also provided information about his recently concluded visit to India.
