Nepal sets 114-run target against Bhutan in ACC Premier Cup match

Kathmandu – In the ongoing ACC Premier Cup cricket tournament in Malaysia, Nepal has set a modest total against Bhutan.

After losing the toss, Nepal was invited to bat first and managed to score only 113 runs, losing all their wickets on the final ball of the allotted 20 overs. Nepal will now need to defend a target of 114 runs against Bhutan.

In Nepal’s batting innings, experienced player Sita Rana Magar made the highest contribution. She played a crucial innings of 37 runs off 28 balls.

Initially under pressure, the Nepali team was lifted by Sita, who formed a strong partnership with Rubina Chhetri for the eighth wicket, adding 40 runs off 31 balls. Rubina Chhetri also contributed 24 runs off 21 balls to boost the team’s score.

Among other batters, Soni Pakhrin added 13 runs, while Samjhana Khadka was dismissed for 10 runs. Other Nepali players struggled to reach double figures at the crease.

Faced with tight bowling from Bhutan, Nepali batters couldn’t play freely. For Bhutan, Chhiring Jyangbo and Sonam bowled excellently, each taking 3 wickets.

Additionally, captain Anju Gurung took 2 wickets, while Ritshi Choden and Riya Pradhan each claimed 1 wicket.
