Balbhadra Bastola appointed chair of Land Problem Resolution Commission

The government has appointed Balbhadra Bastola as the chairperson of the Land Problem Resolution Commission. This decision was made during the Cabinet meeting held on Tuesday at Singha Durbar, as informed by government spokesperson and Minister for Education and Sports, Sasmita Pokharel.

According to her, Amir Prasad Neupane, Padmaniti Sotung, and Dr. Rona Shrestha have been appointed as members of the Land Problem Resolution Commission. She also informed that Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Armed Police Force, Anjani Kumar Pokharel, has been promoted to the position of Additional Inspector General (AIG).

She stated that the government has also decided to approve the agreement related to the implementation of the Montreal Protocol on substances that deplete the ozone layer under the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

She further mentioned, “The agreement related to the implementation of the Montreal Protocol on the management and reduction of substances harmful to the ozone layer under the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) has been approved. Anjani Kumar Pokharel, DIG of the Armed Police Force, has been promoted to AIG. The term of the committee formed to study and recommend on the security mechanism mentioned in the report submitted by the commission investigating the incidents during the Gen Z movement on Bhadra 23 and 24, 2082, has been extended by 45 days. Balbhadra Bastola (Kaski) has been appointed as the chairperson of the Land Problem Resolution Commission, and Amir Prasad Neupane (Kathmandu), Padmaniti Sotung (Lamjung), and Dr. Rona Shrestha (Kathmandu) have been appointed as members.”

The term of the committee formed to study and provide recommendations on the security mechanism mentioned in the report submitted by the commission investigating the incidents during the Gen Z movement has been extended by 45 days.
