A team from the Home Ministry, formed to investigate the border dispute and clashes between Humla and Bajura at the Lampata border area, has arrived in Simkot, Humla. The team, led by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Bimalraj Paudel, reached Simkot on Sunday, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Shankar Khadka from the District Police Office. The team visited the Lampata and Chyachaur areas to understand the ground reality of the incident between the two districts.

During their stay in Simkot, the team plans to hold discussions with local residents of the border area, individuals involved in the incident, representatives from the border regions, political party leaders, and community leaders about the event.

Previously, the Home Ministry had formed the team after clashes erupted between residents of Humla and Bajura over border issues from Jestha 2 to Jestha 4. The dispute intensified following the allocation of a budget of NPR 4 million by the Sudurpaschim Provincial Government in the current fiscal year to establish a police post in the area. The escalation of the border dispute led to clashes in Lampata, resulting in injuries to four individuals from Bajura.

All four injured were airlifted by helicopter for rescue. To resolve the dispute, a study team led by Deputy Director General Sushil Dangol from the Survey Department and a separate committee led by SSP Bimalraj Paudel from Nepal Police were formed on Jestha 11.
