Truck accident on Bagua River bridge claims driver’s life in Makwanpur

A truck accident on the bridge over the Bagua River in Makwanpur, part of the Bagmati-Kantilo Road, has resulted in the death of the driver.

According to Madhav Kafle, spokesperson for the District Police Office, the truck was transporting materials for the under-construction Bagmati Hydropower Project from Hetauda to Lalitpur when it met with an accident last night. The driver, 30-year-old Dal Bahadur Bartaula from Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-3, lost his life in the incident.

The truck, which had submerged in the river, was retrieved with mechanical assistance the same night. The driver’s body was found in the driver’s seat, Kafle informed. The truck’s co-driver managed to save himself by jumping out of the vehicle before the accident occurred, he added.
