Jeep accident in Achham kills two, injures three on Mid-Hill Highway

Achham: A jeep accident on the Mid-Hill Highway at Thapamod, Panchadewal Binayak Municipality-4 in Achham last night resulted in two deaths and three injuries.

The jeep, bearing the registration number BAPr 01-027 Ch 2277, was en route from Darchula to Jumla and fell approximately 200 meters off the road.

According to Achham Police Chief Deputy Superintendent of Police Om Prakash Khanal, the injured Nabin Tuladhar, 41, from Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City, Makwanpur, and Ram Prakash Tharu, 45, from Bansghari Municipality-5, Bardiya, succumbed to their injuries during treatment at the Provincial Hospital in Surkhet.

The injured include Santakumar Sah, 27, from Kalyanpur Municipality-10, Siraha; Arjun Kumar Paudel from Fedikhola Rural Municipality-4, Syangja; and the jeep driver Raj Rajendra Bhimraj Chattan Gupta, 28, from Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City-5. They are currently receiving treatment.

A police team dispatched from Belkhet immediately rescued the injured and took them to Rakam Karnali Basic Hospital in Dailekh for initial treatment. They were later referred to Surkhet for further medical care.
