Kathmandu Metropolitan City has issued a public notice to ‘Galaxy 4K Television’, operated by Gorkha Media Network Pvt. Ltd., to remove all its belongings from the office premises within 15 days.

In a case between Mrigendra Prasad Mishra of Kathmandu Metropolitan Ward No. 3 and Gorkha Media Network’s Chairman Gitendra Babu (GB) Rai regarding the eviction of rented property, the judicial committee of the metropolis ruled in favor of the plaintiff on Kartik 14, 2081.

Following the decision, the defendants were ordered to pay the outstanding rent and taxes and vacate the property.

After the decision was not implemented, the High Court Patan issued a mandamus on Shrawan 28, 2082, directing the metropolis to enforce the decision within two months.

Subsequently, on Kartik 14, 2082, a team from the metropolis initiated the process to vacate the property.

More than six months after the decision was enforced, the belongings had not been removed, prompting property owner Mishra to file a petition on Baisakh 21, 2083, requesting the metropolis to auction the items.

Based on this petition, the metropolis has given a final 15-day deadline.

If the remaining rent is not paid and the belongings are not removed within the specified timeframe, the items will be auctioned as per the judicial committee’s procedures.

It is noteworthy that the television channel was operated under the leadership of Rabi Lamichhane, chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), with investment from GB Rai and others. The channel ceased operations shortly after Lamichhane entered politics.
