Madhesh Chief Minister Yadav to seek vote of confidence today

Janakpurdham – Madhesh Province Chief Minister Krishna Prasad Yadav is set to seek a vote of confidence today.

Following the withdrawal of support by the Janamat Party from the Madhesh government, Chief Minister Yadav is required to seek a vote of confidence within 30 days as per constitutional provisions. He will be doing so today.

The Provincial Assembly Secretariat has announced that the agenda for today’s Provincial Assembly meeting, scheduled for 11 AM, includes Chief Minister Yadav seeking a vote of confidence.

Currently, the Madhesh Provincial Assembly has 101 members out of a total of 107. To secure the vote of confidence, support from 54 members is needed. The current four-party coalition in the Madhesh government comprises 22 members from the Nepali Congress, 17 from the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal, 14 from the Communist Party of Nepal (NCP), and 8 from the Loktantrik Samajwadi Party.

Two Provincial Assembly members are suspended, and four seats are vacant following resignations to contest elections.
