Traffic halted on BP Highway and Hilsa-Simikot road due to risks

Kathmandu – Due to potential flooding and road construction activities, vehicular movement has been halted on the BP Highway in Kavrepalanchok-Sindhuli and the Hilsa-Simikot road section in Humla.

The Police Headquarters issued a notice today stating that traffic on the BP Highway, which runs from Khurkot-Nepalthok-Katunje Bensi to Sindhuli in Kavrepalanchok, has been suspended due to the risk of potential flooding.

According to the police, all vehicles on this road section have been banned from operating from 5:00 PM on Baisakh 21, 2083, until 5:00 AM the next day, until further notice.

Similarly, traffic on the Hilsa-Simikot road section has also been halted due to ongoing road expansion work in the Chyaduk area of Namkha Rural Municipality-2 in Humla.

The police have reported that due to the risk of falling rocks and soil during the road excavation from Chyaduk Hotel to Chyachhara, transportation on this road section has been stopped from Baisakh 29 to Jestha 2.
