Three-vehicle collision in Dhading injures 37 passengers on Prithvi Highway

In Dhading, a collision involving three vehicles on the Prithvi Highway at Galchi Rural Municipality-6, Baireni, left 37 passengers injured last night.

At around 11:30 PM, a truck with the registration number Bagmati Province 03–001–006, traveling from Kathmandu towards Chitwan, was rear-ended by a bus heading towards Baglung with the number Bagmati Province 01–006 Kha 7499. Subsequently, another bus traveling towards Birgunj from the same direction also collided, resulting in a chain reaction accident.

According to DSP Prakash Dahal, the information officer at the District Police Office in Dhading, there were a total of 68 people on board the three vehicles. Out of them, 37 were injured.

The injured were immediately rescued and taken to the local Baireni Hospital and Smarika Medical Hall. Three individuals received minor treatment and have returned home, while 34 others, who require serious and further medical attention, have been sent to Kathmandu.

The police have detained the drivers of the truck and both buses involved in the accident. Further investigation into the incident is underway, according to the police.
